A friend and I got more than we bargained for when we caught these guys performing in front of David Garza (a worthwhile artist also), at the Largo, Los Angeles - when was it, 2004? Man, they were hilarious, I was in tears. They're a fantastic musical parody duo from New Zealand.
Lo and behold. They have a show. On HBO.
From the site:
"Flight of the Conchords follows the trials and tribulations of a two man, digi-folk band from New Zealand as they try to make a name for themselves in their adopted home of New York City. The band is made up of Bret McKenzie on guitar and vocals, and Jemaine Clement on guitar and vocals. Bret and Jemaine have moved to New York in the hope of forging a successful music career. So far they've managed to find a manager (whose "other" job is at the New Zealand Consulate), one fan (a married obsessive) and one friend (who owns the local pawn shop) -- but not much else."

Enjoy.

I wish I had cable so I could see these guys. One of them is in a new movie called Eagle vs. Shark. Have you heard of it? It's kind of Napoleon Dynamite with a Kiwi accent.
You should hop over there (New Zealand, that is) once you're in Australia, it's so close...
Haven't seen E vs. S. You sayin' I should, then I shall. Hope to make it to NZ. Need to make some friends there first. ;) I'm on it!
